HOW IT ALL STARTED

Born in Groenlo, the Netherlands (May 26, 1998) to a musical dad, Lennard followed his passion for music from a young age. Rock was the first music that captivated him throughout his dad but he quickly moved on to discovering house music. At this time his brother came out with a turntable which inspired him a lot to dig deeper into the house scene.

After visiting a concert show at Hardwell in 2015 he knew for sure “This is it, I want to be that guy”. After this show, a dream started and the thing that stuck to him the most, we’re the mashups. By participating as a DJ in a contest in 2016 Lennard won the ‘Dancetour DJ Clash’ and gained a spot at one of the leading music festivals in the Netherlands. After winning this spot his motivation growed even bigger.

By starting his own channel on YouTube, he quickly discovered a talent within himself by making the craziest idea’s come together in mashups. A power that he felt good about led him to his first 10.000 subscribers in 2017. During this time, he continued doing a lot of birthday parties for two reasons, to buy a new DJ set and to invest in his dream. Not only his fanbase but also his musicproducing skills continued to evolve. He got accepted at the Herman Brood Academy, the same music school the current #1 DJ in the world Martin Garrix started his career. This school gave him the freedom to develop his skills and work on his dream for 3 years.

The mashups started to evolve into bootlegs or what he likes to call edits. Quickly after that Lost Frequencies picked up his first edit and played it on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, followed by Nicky Romero dropping another edit at the famous Ultra Miami Festival. The list started growing exponentially and even more, DJs started knocking on his door asking for his music.

Even Diplo the three-time Grammy-winning artist and the producer behind Justin Bieber's album came across his edits asking personally to send over “everything”. At this moment internationally we can't name any DJ that has nothing of the sounds of WeDamnz in their music folders. He became a vital part to the industry.

Followed by his independent strength and his team around him Lennard will continue to evolve to become one of the biggest artists in the scene.
